Las Vegas General Overview
One of the hottest places to live in the nation, Las Vegas is growing in every direction imaginable. Because of a dynamic business climate, the migration of companies in all industries to the Las Vegas area has created one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation right here in the heart of the Southwest. With the increase in business, Las Vegas has experienced an influx of people from across the country, bringing with them culture from performing arts to ethnic restaurants. Along with the casinos and resorts that Las Vegas has become world famous for, these exciting attributes make Las Vegas one of the world's most dynamic cities.
Las Vegas Housing
There is an abundance of residential Real Estate available in Las Vegas and the
surrounding areas. You'll find beautifully mature homesites as well as many modern developments to choose from. There are many retirement communities, golf communities and sub-divisions, or tracts, offering all price ranges and available in the many townships surrounding Las Vegas (North Las Vegas, Winchester, Henderson, Spring Valley Paradise, and East Las Vegas).

Las Vegas/ Climate and Weather
The Las Vegas climate is very warm and dry. The average temperature is 70 degrees and it frequently breaks 100 degrees in the summer. The average yearly rainfall is very low as well. If you like the sun but dont like the mugginess of Florida or the Carolinas, then Las Vegas has the right climate for you.
Las Vegas Attractions
Las Vegas/ offers a multitude of sporting events, museums, performing arts, dining, casinos, hotels, night life, and recreational activities.
Las Vegas has a bevy of casinos, hotels, and resorts. These places have very electric atmospheres and an unlimited amount of things to do. Some hotel/casinos include Algiers Hotel, Atlantis, Aladdin, Boardwalk Casino, Caesers, Diamonds Casino, Excalibur, Golden Nugget, Silver Nugget, Hard Rock, and The New York Hotel just to name a few. Virtually every hotel in the Las Vegas area has some kind of casino.
As far as performing arts goes, it is almost impossible to find a time when there is not some cultural event taking place. Big name artists perform regularly in Las Vegas as well as many local performing arts groups. The Jazz scene in Las Vegas is also very healthy. There are also many theatre groups, not to mention the performing arts center right on the UNLV campus where students exhibit their talents.
Las Vegas Education
Las Vegas offers an enormous selection of high quality education from kindergarten through graduate and post-graduate studies. For K-12 there are such public schools as Eldorado High School, Johnson Middle School, Silverado High School, and Green Valley High School. In addition, there is an Advanced Technologies Academy that specializes in computer science, law, computer graphics, and accounting. There is also a nonprofit and nonsectarian prep school called The Meadows School. After high school, there are many options for students seeking higher education. There are several state colleges and universities including Reno, Henderson, Desert Research Institute, Community College of Southern Nevada, Great Basin, Truckee Meadows, Western Nevada Community College, and the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV).
