Naples General Overview
Naples is not only a great city for doing business, it's also a great place to live. In fact, one of the reasons it's a great city for business is its quality of life. In addition to the cosmopolitan personality and tax-friendly location, businesses and individuals are attracted here by the subtropical climate, world-class shopping and dining and the incomparable recreation and cultural opportunities. And once these people are here, the vast majority of them never want to leave.

Naples is located in Collier County in Southwest Florida. It's 2,025 square miles stretches along the Gulf of Mexico and is home to beachfront resorts, five-star properties, quaint fishing villages, golf communities, vegetable farms, citrus groves and cattle farms.

Historically, the Naples area was known for it's tomato production. Recently, Naples has often been thought of as just a resort destination. Today, Naples has the reputation for being a world-class area to live and work in for homebuyers who are fairly young and have families as well as for retirees. Suprisingly enough, 75 percent of the population is younger than 64. Naples is still considered to be a great place to retire to and offers many cultural, shopping, and dining amentities to support it's community.

Neighborhoods in Naples are as diverse as the architectual styles found there. There are quiet mature neighborhoods such as Old Naples that offers charm and downtown amenities to it residents. Children can walk to schools. Newer subdivisions just outside of the downtown area offer a sense of community, playgrounds plus community amenities.

Golf communities feature everthing from condominiums, to equisite single-family homes, garden homes and detached carriage homes. Residents will enjoy the views of both links and ocean. Prices can vary widely from moderate to decidely upscale.

Naples has many beachfront properties along Gulf Shore Bouleveard that reflect both old and new architecutal styles. Cottages and beach-style homes line the nearby streets creating a charming atmosphere. Boaters will enjoy the opportunity to own waterfront properties that have seaside access as well as lakes, rivers, and Naples Bay offering additional waterfront properties.

Homes to the east of the coast in Naples are less expensive, giving families affordable acreage in subdivisions that feature riding trails and stables. Many of these tracts are wonderful neighborhoods with a family atmosphere to them.

Naples Climate and Weather
Located at sea level, Naples is situated in a subtropical climate zone. The average year-round temperature for Naples, Florida is 75 degrees. During the winter months, expect to see temperatures in the upper 70`s to the low 80's. During the summer, the 90 degree temperatures are tempered by afternoon rains and shore breezes.

Naples Attractions
Residents and visitors alike, will find the many sandy beaches, county and city parks full of recreational opportunties. The greater Naples area is known as the "Golf Captial of the World boasting some of the world's finest golf courses. Naples hosts many golf tournaments throughout the year including the LPGA Memorial Tournament and the annual Senior PGA Tour.

Tennis, biking and jogging are popular sport activities and you'll find plenty of paths the ribbon the communities making them accessable to walkers and in-line skaters too. In-line skating at Fleischmann Park is very popular complete with ramps and pipes.

Spectators will get a thrill watching the swamp buggy races held in March, Maay and October. Another local favorite is the fishing scene in Naples. Anglers will enjoy either fresh or salt water fishing. There are many charter boats leaving the docks in the dowtown areas and there are many boat rental shops as well. The first weekend in May features the Silver Slam Tarpon Tournament featuring a catch-and-release competition.

For outdoor fun, the Everglades offer a variety outdoor opportunities. Residents can enjoy all of the wildlife on a daily basis here in Naples. Carribean Gardens features botanical gardens, wildlife, boat tours, walking trails, shows and exhibits. For those seeking water sport fun, check out Golden Gate Aquatic Facility on Santa Barbara Boulevard in Naples and Sun Splash Family Waterpark located in Cape Coral. King richards Fun Park is a must for those who crave video arcades, go-carts, bumper boats and amusement park activities. A family must. Butterflies in Flight is located on Goodlette Road and features butterfly gardens plus displays of all life stages of several species. Bowling is still a big American indoor activity and there are 3 bowling centers in Naples located on Tanaples Trail North, Luckey Lane, and Radio Road.

Naples has many museums and points of interest that are historical. Some of the popular sites for history buffs are the Naples Depot, Palm Cottage and Ted Smallwood's Store. Children and adults alike, delight in visiting the Teddy Bear Museum of Naples on Pine Ridge Road.
