Home to the simple life. North Central is made up of rustic towns along an undeveloped coastline that the locals call some of the best fishing available. Unlike Northwest Florida, white sandy beaches are replaced by shallow saltwater esturies, which makes fishing a favorite pastime. The nations oldest continuously occupied European city, St. Augustine is just one of the many historic areas located within the region. Do you want to have fun? Well Central Florida is home to fun. There is Walt Disney World, Discovery Cove, Seaworld, Universal Studios, Magic Kingdom, Epcot and so much more. Although not a beach community, should you want to get wet, here are some local spots, Water Mania, Wet 'n Wild, Wild Waters, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach just to name a few. Central West
Just a two hour ride from Orlando, Central West Florida is known as the "Nature Coast", for there respect of the ecosystem. You can swim with the Manatees along the gulf waters or just sit and relax on the beautiful white beaches and enjoy the sunny weather, in St. Petersburg/Clearwater area an average of 361 days of sunshine. Much of the land in the Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties has been set aside for state and national parks, with swimming holes and miles of hiking trails. Just a short distance across the bay lies the city of Tampa. For those looking to get away, try one of the many barrier islands along the coast of Southwest Florida.
