For a total night out on the town, you only need to stop at one place. Swing 1000 features fine dining, live music and a cigar bar. Their Big Band Orchestra will move you across the 1400 square foot dance floor to the sounds of the Thirties, Forties, and Fifties. Located close to Uptown Charlotte, jackets required, reservations recommended.

The Lamplighter Restaurant, 1065 East Morehead Street, 704/372-5343
Winner of the "Distinguished Restaurants of North America Award," The Lamplighter features Continental and American cuisine. Elegantly prepared entrees feature beef, seafood, veal, chicken, wild game and pasta. Definitely a culinary treat.

300 East, 300 East Boulevard, 704/332-3962
Everyone feels equally comfortable at this Dilworth establishment. The food is eclectic, a wonderful array of freshly interpreted traditional dishes from various regions and some innovative combinations. The atmosphere is comfortable, yet elegant. 300 East is definitely something out of the ordinary in Charlotte.

This Southwestern cafe has it all, live jazz, incredible tastes and lively, colorful presentation. In a casual atmosphere, chef Kelley Allen delivers an authentic Southwestern meal with a twist. Castadli's Italian Bistro, 311 East Blvd., 704/333-6999
Set in a historic house in Dilworth, Castaldi's was voted 1998 Best Italian, Outdoor Dining & Sunday Brunch. Delightful Italian meals are complimented here by fresh bread with seasoned olive oil for dipping and attentive service. One of Charlotte's comfortable specialty restaurants.
