Cobb County is just north of Atlanta across the Chattahoochee River. It is also consider one of Atlanta's fastest growing areas and has one of the highest standards of living in the country.

Cobb County enjoys a strong diversified economy and an astounding employment rate of 97.3 percent. The largest employer is Lockheed-Georgia, which produces military aircraft. In addition there are office and industrial parks scattered throughout the area that provide regional headquarters to many national firms. Some of the major companies include Sprint, AT&T, Coca-Cola, GE Power Systems, IBM, WORLDSPAN, Heidelberg U.S.A., and Georgia Pacific.

Cobb county residents are very supportive of its two public school systems and numerous private schools. Marietta Board of Education operates within the City of Marietta, while the Cobb County Board of Education operates all other public schools.

As in many of the Atlanta area counties, recreation is abundant in Cobb County. There are 35 area parks where residents can enjoy swimming, tennis, softball, hiking, jogging, and boating. Six Flags Over Georgia, the region's premier amusement park, is located in South Cobb and attracts millions of visitors each year. Because of the great employment rate and the high standard of living, Cobb County is a great place for families and newcomers to prosper.
